University Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders®)
Within the University we have a network of MHFAiders®. This network of skilled MHFAiders® help to create a culture and environment whereby the whole university as a community are empowered to talk about mental health as part of everyday life, and work together at every level in promoting good mental wellbeing in the workplace.
How do Mental Health First Aiders® help staff and students?
MHFAiders® are based across campus and are trained in offering help to a person experiencing mental health difficulties, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health issue or are in a mental health crisis. MHFAiders® are not medical professionals, but have useful information on signposting staff and students to the correct services, and offering instant support when needed.
There is a central list of MHFAiders® available below. Their name, building location and telephone number information is listed.
Please note: you can contact a MHFAides® from anywhere across the university, it does not have to be your specific building location.
We do advise if it is an emergency situation, please contact the MHFAider® in your building or in the building closest.
