The Building Services Team works include:

• Space planning
• Project design works
• Surveying works
• Condition surveys
• Interior design
• Signage
• Maintenance of barriers and auto-doors
• Refurbishments
• Room plan updates
• Flooring
• Building servicing and maintenance 

The Building Team are based in the Atkinson Holt Building between the hours of 8.00AM-16.00PM Monday to Friday.

There is an emergency on call service for essential works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Did you know?

• The Laura Annie Willson Building has had photo voltaics solar panels added to the roof. Feasible locations for other areas for solar panels are under investigation.
• Furniture is encouraged to be recycled and re-used and reupholstered.
• Fabrics are selected made from yarn created from plastic bottles fished from the sea. Tired furniture is then up-cycled and re-upholstered with the fabric to give it a new lease of life.
• The Building Services team use products such as carpet tiles which contain yearn and backing that is made from recyclable materials.
• All paint used at the University is specified to contain Low VOC's (Low Volatile Organic Compounds).
• Signage-wherever possible signage is recycled and reused around campus.
• Local suppliers and contractors are used as much as possible for supply and works at the University.
• There has been a large window replacement scheme undertaken on various older buildings on campus where original windows have been replaced to bring them up to the current building regulation requirements and improved insulation levels. The glass utilised on south facing windows helps to reduce solar gain and keeps rooms to a comfortable temperature.
•  Various buildings have had roof work improvements to reduce heat loss.
