We're kicking off 2026 with opportunities for our academic researchers to think about their research career and ongoing development - Picture This (14 Jan) invites a different perspective through the use of collage for reflection, whilst The development-focused researcher (15 Jan) introduces the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF).

British Academy Early Career Researcher (ECR) Network
The British Academy ECR Network is an inclusive, researcher-led network for UK-based early career researchers working in the arts, humanities and social sciences. It was expanded to include Yorkshire & Humber in Sept 2025 and there are lots of benefits to (free) membership including training, networking events, mentoring schemes, an online community platform and seed-funding opportunities.

An in-person launch event for the Yorkshire & Humber cluster of the ECRN will take place on 29 January 2026 in York.
