Mental Health First Aid Refresher

Who is this course aimed at?

What is this course about?

This course is for qualified Mental Health First Aiders who have been advised by MHFA England that their refresher training is due. Refresher training ensures your mental health knowledge, awareness and skills remain up to date. MHFAiders® have a six-month grace period after their certification expires to complete the refresher. On successful completion, learners will receive a further three years of MHFA certification and continue their membership of the Association of Mental Health First Aiders®, providing access to a range of resources, learning opportunities, events and research.

To register your interest, please contact People & Organisational Development (P&OD) at people@hud.ac.uk. Please ensure you speak with your manager in advance of booking, as costs are applicable to this training. The next course will take place in October 2026. The booking deadline is Friday 4 September 2026 to allow sufficient time for registration with MHFA England and the ordering of course materials.

Learners will be sent a registration link by MHFA England. Once registered, course materials will be purchased at a cost of £21.50 per learner, which will be recharged to the learner's School or Service.

A reminder of how to spot signs of a person experiencing poor mental health and have the confidence to start a conversation.
Continue to boost and support employee wellbeing
To refresh training staff in their role as mental health first aiders at the University
