This session provides an introduction to making simple book structures whilst supporting you to take a mindful approach to crafting books by hand. Mindfulness can be described as a process of paying attention, on purpose, to our present moment experience with kindness, self compassion , understanding and curiosity. You will be guided through the process of creating simple books structures using mindfulness meditations and practices to anchor your awareness. No previous experience of making books or mindfulness meditation is required, but participants will need a basic level of manual dexterity, required for measuring, cutting, folding, stitching and gluing.Objectives
Here is what you can expect by attending this course:
- You'll develop your skills in being more fully present in the moment and take away ideas of how this can be used at work and at home
- You'll learn how to create simple book structures which can be used for a range of mindful activities which can support well-being
- You'll learn some simple mindfulness and meditation practices which are useful for developing focus, awareness and a greater sense of connection with what you're doing
