What is this course about?

Our Research Culture Cafes provide an opportunity to explore research culture at the University of Huddersfield. They are about understanding your current experiences and perspectives, identifying any challenges and seeking ideas and solutions. Based on a model from the Wellcome Trust (adapted for our own context), they will adopt an informal cafe style format for facilitated group discussions.

Our Research Culture Cafes will start with a focus on researcher wellbeing on 2 June 2026, with future sessions then exploring different research culture themes.

Objectives

Here is what you can expect by attending this course:
  • Explore experiences, what works well and the challenges.
  • Learn more about research culture and take a deep dive into specific themes.
  • Reflect on what a better research culture could look like and share ideas for improvement.
