What is this course about?

Open research is a movement which encourages accessibility and transparency in academia. This includes ‘open access’, which is the practice of making scholarly outputs freely available for anyone to read and re-use. This session will introduce the basics of open research, outline its many benefits, and demonstrate how you can engage in open practice.

Objectives

Here is what you can expect by attending this course:
  • Identify which open routes are available to you when publishing, from sharing your manuscript in a repository to making use of available funding for journal publications.
  • Navigate the open research landscape and understand why openness matters.
  • Recognise which open mandates and policies may apply to you, and understand how to comply.
